A research team led by Professor Hyung Woo Lee at Pusan National University has opened new possibilities for multifunctional wearable electronics.
Professor Lee Hyung-woo's research team has developed a multifunctional Wearable Electronic that generates electricity from light while also detecting harmful gases.
A device incorporating U I O-sixty-six-F achieved a photoelectric conversion efficiency of seven point one six percent, an improvement of up to twenty-nine percent over other average devices.
The team applied U I O-sixty-six, a porous material, to fiber-type dye-sensitized solar cells to enhance energy conversion performance.
It also demonstrated excellent power generation under indoor lighting, confirming its potential as a self-powered device for wearable electronics.
It also showed a response of about ninety-seven percent to one hundred P P M hydrogen sulfide , demonstrating its strong ability to detect hazardous gas.
Even after being bent more than one thousand five hundred times and washed twenty times, the electronic textile retained seventy to more than eighty percent of its initial performance.
It is expected to serve as a sensor platform with applications across a wide range of fields.
